Jim Weikel, of Pond Gardens, Inc., has two degrees in landscape horticulture, is certified by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) and a member of the International Professional Pond Contractors Association (IPPCA).

He started Pond Gardens Inc. to concentrate on the niche of fine landscapes and water gardens. "We don't want to compete with large contractors, we just want to build fine gardens."

Landscape gardening should be very artistic - framing views, using pathways, building the landscape out and away from the foundation so it can be seen and enjoyed from inside the home. Periodic refinements are very important!!! That is the key to outstanding horticultural creations and lowering the maintenance.

Our watergardens are biologically balanced using aquatic plants, fish, living bacteria, bog and wet well filtration. The lowest maintenance can be achieved using salt or chlorine to sterilize the water, but of course this does not appeal to living things.

Ponds, streams and waterfalls are perfect for creating that relaxing atmosphere that makes you want to come home and stay there!
